Kara Teschner

Kara TeschnerMrs. Teschner joined the SCPA family in 2017. Before her arrival, she worked in the Office of Secondary Schools where she served as an Area Head Counselor over the Madison Cluster and all of the district's atypical and alternative schools. In her tenure, Mrs. Teschner has also served as the Head Counselor at Twain-Mesa High School, Counselor at Lincoln High School, Wangenheim Middle School, Montgomery Middle School, and Miramar Ranch Elementary School.

Currently, Mrs. Teschner serves students who are majoring in Theatre, Choral, and Creative Writing. She serves as SCPA's College liaison, organizes the College Bound Symposiums, iHigh/Online Learning, Homeless/Youth in Transition liaison, Summer School enrollment, Personal Leadership, as well as assists the admin/counseling team. Mrs. Teschner grew up in the Central Valley of California where she raised and showed Holstein cows, was an active member of 4-H and FFA, a competitive cheerleader on a co-ed cheer squad, and was on the high school's swimming and diving team.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from San Diego State University, Masters in Education Counseling and Guidance and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University, and her Masters in Educational Leadership and administrative credential from Point Loma Nazarene University. Mrs. Teschner is married with two school aged children, an active member of San Diego Mission de Alcala, and enjoys Pilates and swimming.
