Cash Fields"The History Department at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts is comprised of faculty members with advanced degrees in both History and Education, as well as years of teaching experience. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for postsecondary education by developing historical thinking skills through speaking, reading, and writing, and we strive to integrate the arts into our academic classrooms.

We are dedicated to making meaningful connections by examining different points-of-view, exploring patterns in the past, connecting the past to the present, and evaluating ethics.

Our mission is to open our doors to students and allow them a space that nurtures their hearts AND minds. In our classrooms they will be taught the value of a growth mindset, and will be given the necessary supports and opportunities to meet the standards. Through rigorous, arts-integrated, curriculum they will have the opportunity to develop both their historical thinking skills and global perspectives. Our scope and sequence will include University of California Integration (UCCI), College Board Advanced Placement, and City College courses." -- Michelle Cash Fields, History/Social Science Co-Chair
